Help unable to connect to PC

i upgraded my samsung captivate I897 to gingerbread successfully.But after that if i connected to PC it is just charging . always getting USB device not found...any idea?
 
Try a different USB port on the PC. That should force it to relocate the drivers. Also, the update probably changed the default connection mode. If you go to menu>settings>applications>usb utilities and set it to "ask on connection". That way, every time you plug in your phone it will ask you how you want to connect it.
