Help Unable to make voice calls

Hi there.

I have a problem with my Galaxy Ace phone and put simply I am unable to make a voice call with the phone. I can't get any ringtone - absolutely nothing.

Also nobody can make any voicecalls in.

The model number is GT-S5830i

The Android version is 2.6.35.7 with build GINGERBREAD .XXLD3

Any replies are appreciated.

Is the phone fully functional apart from making/receiving calls?
If you're on a GSM network, try removing the SIM card, cleaning the contacts and replacing it, if that doesn't help try the SIM in another phone, and try a different SIM from your carrier in your phone. If your SIM works in another phone, it's your phone that's faulty, If your SIM doesn't work in another phone, but another SIM does, request a new SIM from your carrier.

As a final thing, can you unlock your bootloader and install a custom ROM, see the 'All things root' sub-folder for your phone here: Ace - All Things Root - Android Forums

I'm moving this to the Samsung Galaxy Ace forum on the off chance it's a problem with the phone itself.

By the sounds of it, your account seems to be deactivated or suspended for some reason. I'd call your carrier right away, because even if there was something wrong with your phone, voicemail should still work.
