how do you do that? I connected it to my pc to transfer some files to the micro sd card, and when i wanted to safely remove it from the computer, i didn't see that option.

Right click sd card- next menu unmount.
This is assuming you're referring to a windows pc.

Down by the clock open hidden icons and click on the one that says safely remove hardware. It will have a USB connector with a green check mark. You should also be able to open my computer, right click the phone and click eject.

If it's connected via kies then you don't do it that way. Simply click the x to the top left in kies and pull the wire out. If it's via mass storage then there will be a icon in system tray.

On my Win 7 Pro it's never shown an option to safely remove. I've always just unplugged it. Never as much as even a warning from the phone or the PC. It doesn't even show anything in the event logs.

Same here, but I've been using mtp to transfer my files. I have yet to get mass storage to work with windows 7.
