Root updated to 4.2, now bricked

anybody have a link to the full stock ROM I can try and sideload onto my phone? I updated to 4.2 and I'm stuck on the htc quietly brilliant screen.
 
How long has it been stuck on that screen? Remember flashing a new rom takes time to fully load the first time. You should be able to get into stock recovery at the very least and flash back to stock. If not then look in the all things root guide. There should be a stock rom link in there or a link to where to get it from. Other than that, I don't know how to help. Support for this device seems to have slowed to nothing at the moment.

sorry for the late response,are you sorted?

how did you attempt to update? if you just flashed a rom in recovery that for some reason wont boot,and you have no backup to restore,you can try and install something like this via the recoveries "Adb sideload" feature,since you cannot boot to move the rom to the sd card: [ROM] DNA OTA Stock Rooted & OTApkg.zip | Droid DNA > XDA

am unsure about the dna,but some devices will let you install a rom from a usb OTG cable with a micro sd and adapter,so you could try that as well.

if your situation is more complex than that,some more details about what actually happend,as well as wether you are s on or s off,as well as the results of a fastboot getvar all (x out your meid and esn) would be helpful.

I just did the OTA update in the software update section of my phones settings.

the sideload option in CWM did not work. I ended up figuring out how to sideload one via hboot instead.

So now I'm on a stock ROM, and trying to install CWM again, but apparently I'm not rooted anymore. I'm s-off, and it says "RELOCKED" in hboot.

So I guess I'll figure out how to root this sucker again (I miss the incredible), install CWM, make a backup of my current ROM (something I should have done last time, but didn't think it would be necessary to update my stock ROM via OTA) THEN try to update my phone again.

my problem last time was I had no backup, and no ROM on my internal storage, and no way of getting one there since it doesn't have an SD card. I had CWM recovery, but no ROMs. That's where hboot ADB sideload came in. Now I could download any ROM I want, but don't have CWM recovery anymore.
 
dang...I seem to be in a pickle here.

the moonshine thing says I have to be on 2.06 to do this, but I'm on 1.15.605.4 710RD.

I don't want to update without making a backup first because, obviously last time I updated my phone bricked out on me.

I can't make a backup, until I get CWM installed. I can't do that until I'm rooted...

Is there a way to set my phone back to completely stock? That way if I update and it bricks again, I can just make verizon replace it since it's still under warranty. but right now it says s-off and RELOCKED so they wouldn't do it. Can I make it say S-ON and LOCKED again so verizon will think it's completely stock?
 
You don't need to run moonshine again,you're allready s off. You just need to install a recovery.

Easiest thing prolly is to just unlock your bootloader so you can use the "fastboot flash" command. Alternately,you can install recovery with a locked bootloader as a zip file with the phone in ruu mode.
