USB OTG: Anybody Got It Working w/Hard Drive?

Galaxy Note.

I expected USB OTG to work with an SD card.... and it did.

But I was kind of amazed when I connected my wireless Microsoft Arc Mouse and the little pointer appeared and I was able to use the mouse to point and click.

But I struck out when I connected a Western Digital "Book" drive. Android said "USB cable connected", but did not say anything else. Without the mouse thing, I would have expected that. But since it recognized the mouse...

Has anybody gotten a hard drive to come up?

Might be the formatting of your hard drive, have look at that article ...

Bingo. It was NTFS.

Tried re-formatting a couple of drives using Fat32 (120 gigs) and ExFat (250 gigs) and they worked - no problem.

I also have a 1-TB drive formatted to ExFat and I *think* it connected/opened ok but wouldn't swear to it.
