USB Transfer speeds problem

What speeds are you guys getting when transferring files via USB

It seems that my evo and my PC transfer files at 3-4mb/sec max.

I've the the stock 8gb SD card, stock HTC microUSB cable.

The same USB port transfers to my external and my htc diamond at 20-30mb/sec.

Any suggestions/advice/solutions are appreciated.

The stock SD card is a class 2, thats about as fast as it can transfer.

Bump it up to a class 6 SD card and you should see an improvement.

If I'm doing a bunch of small files (ie. MP3) my Class 6 only gets about 4MB/s due to copy overhead. Moving over a single large file (ie. Movie) gets a significant speed boost, though I can't remember the speeds offhand.

You guys cant be serious, microsd is that slow? I thought it would be the same as other SD card speeds.

it depends on the class tuna. there are speed reqs for different classes. sometimes you get lucky and get an sd card that will do 10 even though its only a class 4 card
