Using Event in Singapore

I got this phone a few days ago from Amazon but I realised I've made a very huge mistake-I can't use it in Singapore!! Can this phone without a SIM card slot be used in my home country or should I just return it to Amazon?

I love the Event and I really can't bear to part with it. Please assist!!

Sorry, the phone doesn't take SIM cards. It is a CDMA network phone. Only GSM network phones use SIM cards. If used as a phone, it works only on the Virgin Mobile (Sprint MVNO) network in the USA.

Return the phone to amazon ASAP, and look for a similar phone that accepts SIM cards. The only card you can insert on the Event is a Micro SD card.
