Hey, trying to run the FroYo 2.2.1 guide, but the link to FroYo.zip does not exist. I just got an ally for free and want to try out the velocity beta roms. I have a Rooted and Custom Tims6a rom on my "SuperPAI III" so i am by no means a novice. My phone will be a no network/wifi only phone with google voice through grooveip for traveling overseas. just want this bugger to have some better battery life, look good, and be generally less crappy than it is now. any help is apreciated.

TLDR; FroYo.zip needs new mirror, or can someone PM me a link?

Joe

If you are just going to wipe it to load a custom rom it is much easier to just run gingerbreak.apk. Works well enough to get you a custom recovery and you can flash a new rom from there, no real reason to put a lot of work into it.

I only advise using gingerbreak IF he has fastboot, which seeing how this seems to be a newer Ally, he most likely doesn't.

Well i did use the gingerbreak, it worked it seemed. the only problem i have found in my week or so with Velocity 1.2.2 is that the camera does not work, and the gps says i am off the coast of africa on the equator. like 0,0 ish. i do not have service but have been using my ally for grooveip calling and would like to be able to use it for navigation, any help would be great guys!
