[Verizon] "Apollo" Music player?

I'm not sure if this is a built in thing in Sorcery or not.

I used it once to play a MP3 (I almost always stream music)

Now EVERYTIME I unplug my headphones it pops up in notifications?

not when I plug them in, when I unplug them :/ very strange...

Any ideas why it would work like this and how to stop it? I can't find anything in the settings...

I HATE that "feature" of the ROM. I've expressed my dislike of it and called it "bloatware" before, but they don't care.

Freeze it in TiBu (I freeze Apex too) and forget it exists.

Apollo is in a lot of gapp packages and ROMs, and I've never cared for it. Just freeze or delete and be done with it.

I found my glitchy mp3 playback improved after I froze that miserable app.

As long as it's easy to get rid of, it's no biggie to me that the author includes it. I'm sure it was well intended.

ya... i have no idea why such a messed up app would be in such an awesome rom... randomly crashed for me, and i never used it. i disabled it in settings > apps.

I freeze it as well. I use a Bluetooth headset, and Google Play Music. I've found that unless I freeze Apollo, it will take precedence over Play and play whatever handful of songs I have on the phone. Freezing it frees up Play Music to stream away to my heart's content.

I would love it to be an optional install: until that happens, though, there's Titanium Backup :)

Maybe it doesn't FC if one chooses to use it regularly? what is your rom? maybe you would stop using it for a few days and see what happens... just curious.

I'm using JBSourcery 4.5. I'll not use it for a couple days and use Play Music during that time, then go back to Apollo and see what happens.

Well I used play music for a few days, then alternated between it and Apollo, both worked with no fc's or anything at all

Just as a quick note: Installed the latest 5.1 Sourcery build and normal gapps alongside it...and no more Apollo included. There's a standard "music" app, and Play Music. Now if I can just get my car CD player to stop auto-triggering my music app to play when I plug it into the USB... lol.

I didn't mind Apollo most of the time, but I usually stream music from Pandora anyway, only have about 75 songs on my phone atm, if that. Never had an issue with it closing on me though.
