Root [Verizon] lost root access after factory reset

hi all,

i've had battery issues in the past three weeks (battery went from great to terrible over night) and finally decided to try a hard reset to see if that restores my battery life. short answer: it didn't... the even bigger problem: apps (first and foremost tib) lost root access.
after the hard reset i rooted the phone again with the noxious ninja method, which had worked great before. everything seemed fine, superuser is installed, but it won't grant root access to apps. when booting the phone it even shows the "custom" screen. not sure what to do. any suggestions?

thanks a lot!

I would start completely over with a full clear and re-flash--it's likely faster and you'll know its fixed.

To calibrate your battery gauge, with a full battery, delete battery stats (some custom recoveries have this option as well as some battery apps) and let the battery drain completely once, then charge it fully, non-stop once, then use as normal.

rolo, thanks for the reply. a few days after i posted the initial question, root simply came back (sounds weird, i know, but at some point i realized that titanium backup had gotten superuser access again). however, battery life remained terrible. i then moved cross country and i didn't really have the time to deal with the battery issue.
last week i took your advice and flashed a current stock rom. battery life is still not great but yesterday was the first day since the problem started that i got more than 1 day of battery life (27hours, granted, pretty much without using the phone). but i think at my new location the phone radio is by far the biggest drain. reception is terrible and i rarely get more than 2 bars (even then calls drop all the time). so...hard to tell how much the situation actually improved. and when the screen is on (on the lowest setting) battery life still plummets (about 1% every 1-2 minutes). but at least i can stay away from power outlets for a few hours without my phone running out of juice...

cheers
