[Verizon] New SIM Card

I may need a new SIM card for my phone to fix some issues I have had with calls according to Verizon. I have a Galaxy Nexus (problems? Shocker I know). My question is if I get a new SIM, will that have any effect on my unlimited data or my ability to switch to 3G? Or is the SIM merely a conduit to connect to the network? Thanks!

Aside from any information you may have saved on it (you can choose to save contacts to the SIM card), it's just an identification of your account - "this is X". Everything else is on Verizon's servers, linked to that identification.

Hey there, timetoroot. :)

I've moved this thread to the Nexus All Things Root board for your carrier, as other rooted owners of the same device may have additional info or advice.

I believe actually that Verizon's sim cards only contain enough information to hold your account information, nothing more, no contacts or anything. Verizon uses the cloud for there backup servers and storage on the device to back up your contacts. This is why they need your phone when you ask them to transfer over your contacts.
