[Verizon] Recovery wont stick

So i followed these instructions to root, http://androidforums.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus-all-things-root/474570-how-manually-root-unroot-restore-more-vzw-samsung-galaxy-nexus.html#post3736596

And it says that recovery will only be temporarily installed.

So i followed the other instructions to install CWM, but its not sticking either. http://androidforums.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus-all-things-root/474570-how-manually-root-unroot-restore-more-vzw-samsung-galaxy-nexus.html#post3736600

I tried the ROM Manager but it fails to install it. Then the other instructions are the same as the root instructions.

I also cannot rename the recovery-from-boot.p file. I can't turn on root explorer in ES File explorer and the mv command doesnt work in windows.

Any help? When i try to boot into recovery i just get the droid with red !

I also followed the instructions to try Android root toolkit but its saving my device isnt rooted. Im really confused now.

Sorry about the no responses!

When you use the NRT it will only temporarily install a recovery, you need to make sure to read the information he has on each page of each step, otherwise your phone will keep getting unrooted when the temporary recovery goes back to the stock recovery.
