Root [Verizon] Tired of waiting

So if I flash (not root) the latest jelly bean ROM, when the "official" rollouts start, do I then need to un-flash to get hooked back up on the regular updates and stuff or will the official upgrade push out my flashed ROM?

Sorry, but I'm a noob to androids alltogether.

No, ROMs will generally halt the auto-update process. But as long as you go with the stock Jellybean, CleanROM, beans ROM, or some other touchwiz jellybean ROM. There isn't much difference. And if there is a difference, they will be built into the ROM, shortly after it is released. These guys are good.

you will likely not be able to accept any sort of update regardless of what ROM (custom or "stock") that you flash now...

however...

forget even "shortly after its released"

when the update is made "official" its going to go out to soak testers first...one of them will pass on the update to some devs who will likely have a flashable pre-rooted zip out there before the update goes public...

it may take a few days for the custom ROM's to get updated to the new base...but there will be a rooted official update before its even public...
