[Verizon] Would you like a tasty Kit Kat?

Oh the joys of rooting!

Between the N7 a couple weeks ago and the LG last week I was fried. If I had to guess, probably spent 6 to 7 hours between the two.

I still need to flash recovery with the LG.

Codec I flashed that zip once I installed Shiny's 4.4 ROM. Flashing it breaks root, so you need to reroot and that zip works fine (be sure you're still using CWM).
So you lost CWM/TWRP? Are you able to get into bootloader?

Halon, you still haven't gotten TWRP flashed yet? Hit me up on a PM or in the G2 forum and hopefully we can get this solved. :)

I just haven't tried. I have Flashify on my phone but I'm just waiting for a day off. Attending Steeler game on Sunday so it will have to wait till Monday.

Yeah, I have tried to re root several times using the toolkit but keep getting the SuperSU error. And I'm not on 4.4 anymore, I am on 4.3.

If it's 4.3, I'm really not sure. :o
This is simply, my mess around device so I'm not up to date on everything.

Ahh yes the joys of flashing a new ROM.

Just my peso's worth on using 4.4 on the Gnex.

There is a glaring problem trying to get later versions of Android working on a device for which these later android versions have not (and will not) been released via an OTA. The drivers and associated files rapidly become outdated as you can no longer 'pull' the proper proprietary driver files from a rooted device running said version of Android. The proprietary files are needed during the build process to make sure all the hardware will work with the software (ROM).

Therefore, the further down the Android road you get from the latest OTA, the rockier the road becomes.

p.s. @codec:
slow down man and read a bit more carefully. You'll have much better results ;) just trying to help :D

So I just flashed 4.4 SlimKat on my device and it's pretty good.

Had to fix some dpi issues in the build.prop though. From PA3.99 it was still set to 245 and it made everything weird with the Experience Launcher lol.

Otherwise, make sure you flash a the new CWM permanently, not temporarily like I did so you have issues :p

P.S. I love how you swipe to the left and have google now.
