Help video downloads but..no play???

I have a video that a friend sent me in my email account, which I downloaded, but when I try to play it I get the message "video cannot be played". Any suggestions..I installed video catcher, but still no luck.

What type of file is it? Maybe you don't have something that will play that codec?

How would I find this out? Just as a point of note...it played on my Optimus V just fine.

You would have to check the file extension (like .avi). Then you need to make sure that your video watching program supports it.

Using a file explorer, you should be able to see the extension (ES File Explorer does). The download info might as well.

You will have to check then to see if the video app supports it (check within the app itself, or their website/market description).
