Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] This phone is indestructible...

I just wanted to say, that today I accidentally dropped this phone from my ear height (probably around 6feet) and the screen doesnt even have a scratch on it. [I did it once more on purpose just to test it]

Just thought i'd say that and let eveyone know that dropping this phone wont break the screen immediately.

Maybe share any of your phone dropping stories to pass the time.

Left mine on rear bumper when helping kids load car. Had to use Google to locate after. Just have a hybrid mesh case. Phone housing slightly scuffed as was the screen protector. But other than that no issues, once I wiped the tread marks off.

Ouch...

Okay you got my curiosity up. How far did it get? End of the drive, end of the street? Poor thing, it probably tried to keep up for the first mile or so before it's little legs gave out, lol. :o

Wow, nearly right up there with the the LG Optimus V in the 'indestructible' category, huh? I've had my share of accidental drops with my F3. Has a $3 rubberized hard case and screen protector, both intact.

So I got a little curious with this phone. As it is not my daily driver, it wouldn't be the most missed to me.

After a few more drop tests, all from a height of around 5ft, this phone still functions flawlessly. Only the area around the screen is a little scuffed.

Test one: 5ft on back case onto concrete. No problems or cracks. Maybe a scratch or two on the casing.

Test two: 5ft on side of phone same surface. Battery fell out and broke one or two of the clips that hold the back cover on.

Test three: 5ft onto face glass same surface. Battery fell out again, few deeper scuffs on the casing, no problems with the screen or anything else.

I can officially say, this phone is great. With a nice little case, dare I say indestructible? Hahaha

About 2 miles. I located it via Google and used persistent ring option. Guy picked it up from middle of street and called back and returned it. Neighborhood traffic but hey it still worked and was returned. This was about a year ago.

Someone has too many toys and free time. Yes I'm jealous.

What's funny is that this phone has a Gorilla Glass 2 screen.
I put it in my pocket with my keys...one scratch. Hmm...thought G Glass 2 was unscratchable. Curiouser and Curiouser.

I have one scratch on mine from putting it in the same pocket as my knife... Im not sure if Gorilla Glass clames to be unscratchable but it is pretty strong

Yeah, I believe it's scratch-resistant not scratch-proof...big difference.

i got a hard rubber case @ the sprint store after searching high and low... no one else had one retail my only other option would have been to order on line... i'm glad i got the one from sprint because it is in fact indestructible. i've dropped this phone more than any other phone i've had and the case doesn't even scratch. amazing.

i've always used zagg invisible shield screen protectors on my phones and tablets... just because they are so durable. some marks on that but it's only $6 to replace it at the kiosk in the mall.

like i did with my elite when the screen protector gets too funky i'll just pull it off and by the time the screen gets messed up enough to where it bothers me it will probably be time to get a new phone anyway...

i've really been enjoying this phone. now that it's rooted and i've dumped all the bloat off of it it seems to run seamlessly and i have no complaints. still streams video perfect and loads web pages perfect and rarely if ever freezes... battery still holds a decent charge... what's not to like?

best $69 bucks i ever spent.

This is what mine looked like after i ran over it with my car. Worked great (battery charger now) but couldn't see.

I was surprised it still worked after being run over, face down in a rainy parking lot, with the back off for over an hour. And it was ringing when I found it. Definitely a tough phone.
