OK I am not completely new to rooting but there seems to be so many phone variations and ways to root this S3 i have become totally confused.

My software version is un-rooted stock VM L710VPUCNDC

I see a lot of questions and answers for ND8 and others but not much on NDC.

A few questions

1 I can root with Towelroot yes/no

2 Towelroot will not trip knox yes/no

3 No recovery unless i install philz or something like it yes/no

4 Installing recovery will trip knox yes/no

5 Using Towelroot I cannot un-root yes/no

6 Can i use Stickly instructions for MK5 yes/no

Any other short and direct answers would be great. Thank you.

1 You can use towel root yes, it is patched on some newer phones. If you want to install a recovery and roms there is no point.

2 I do not think so

3 Yes, flashing a recovery via odin trips knox.

4 yes

5 You can always unroot by flashing the latest stock tar via odin. I don't know if that trips knox tho.

6 Yes, just make sure you are flashing the latest version of everything! You can not downgrade the bootloader or modem of this device or you will hardbrick.

I used towelroot, then get SuperSU from the playstore. Then get flashify from the playstore. Use flashify to install philztouch recovery. You need the recovery. Img file of philz to install with flashify (not the .tar). I just got the zip of philz and extracted the recovery.img from it. No PC needed. Works on mk5, NDC, nd8, any build.
