Help Volume diminishing...

Lurker
The volume coming out of my Nexus (all of ext. speaker, headphones, and bluetooth) seems to be falling lower and lower the older it gets. I have system volume maxed, and I have also insured that all equalizer volumes in the google music and my podcast app are maxed, but still no change. Any ideas?

Wow, I'm not noticing that on mine. Is it rooted and / or running a custom Rom? I seem to remember some volume fix when they were first released, but that was fixed in an OTA.

No, neither. Original equipment. Just started happening. I use DoubleTwist as my podcast client and I can barely hear podcasts now. Phone volume is still fine, but pretty much any app is getting quieter and quieter.

Could just be the speaker dying, I have heard this happening before on people who use the speaker a lot on their Gnex, unfortunately.

Your best bet, might be to try and speaker fix first for ROMs, which does exist as Unforgiven stated.

OR, try and replace the part yourself.

Thanks you guys! Luckily, I'm only about 3 months away from an upgrade, so I should be able to limp through until then...

Sorry we couldn't necessarily come up with a fix to your issue. Hopefully a few of our suggestions might tide you over until the upgrade :)
