fellow on xda bought a java card. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427960

this basically uses a special factory signed sd card and diag file to clear security data. it removes simlock, changes cid to supercid, and turns radio secure flag off :smokingsomb:it is a perfectly safe method for someone who knows how to do it.

however, java cards are expensive and have limited uses, and it cant be done remotely. as such it wont be free, and youll need to mail him your device,so this wont be for everyone.

i personally would be all over it if i was stuck with an s on device, but thats a personal decision.

just thot id share for those interested :)

sucks that they need physical access, though. not that i don't trust random internet strangers, but not having my phone for 10+ days would be harsh.

holding hope for a software solution for a few more days until i switch to ATT. no reason to stay with a carrier that is so hardline against the very concept of the OS on most of the phones they sell.
