We can't have nice things! (wife dents iPhone 5s)

I've been meaning to take these photos for awhile. My wife and I buy our phones unlocked. We ordered her 64GB Gold iPhone 5s ($849) the day that they were available. But, we slept in so it took about 3 weeks to get it. Anyway, I kept telling her to get a case, and she didn't listen. View the photos below. Now...she uses a case (the peeling stuff is ghost armor, which she applied herself, and cut due to her camera lense requirement).

EDIT: See metal dent in top-right corner of phone, opposite the camera corner.

And FYI, plastic doesn't do this. It flexes, and might crack, but it doesn't do THIS. Had this been a Galaxy S, it would have be a $5 replaceable back cover.

Bummer :(

My missus had her iP5S in her back pocket when she went to the little girls' room.. you can guess the result. Fortunately, it's a work phone so when she took it to her tech people to see if it could be fixed, they just gave her a new one.

Yesterday, I dropped my Nexus 4 for about the 50,000th time .. and this time the glass rear proved why phones really shouldn't have glass rears. Looks like the repair is only going to cost

At least you had the good sense to duck when she threw it at you. ;)

As long as the phone still works, it's a battle scar. It's like getting that first parking lot ding in a new car ... it takes the worry away. :D

That's such a nice neat ding, I'd like to know what did it. Anytime I ding anything it looks like a Rorschach blot. You said case was metal.

I've dropped my phone, but I do have a case on it. I've also sat on my PDA. I forgot it was in back pocket. (Still works)

I dropped my One M8 two days after I got it. Was still waiting for the case to be delivered. Didn't really do any serious damage. Put a few marks in the metal on the corner, and a really small ding on the back panel near the flash lens. This phone is really slippery whilst naked. Oh well, builds character. :p
