Help Weird charging behavior

My n7000 suddenly started behaving weirdly last week. It charges fine below 500ma rate, but when I use chargers that go above that, the phone shows that it's charging but the battery is actually still draining. Turning it off while charging. doesn't solve the problem either. I've tried different chargers and cables.

The only consistent factor is the charge rate. Again, below 500ma - it charges fine; above 500ma, charging status but battery still draining even when turned off.

I use currentwidget to monitor charging ma, and also battery monitor to track battery usage. The max ma I've seen is ~750+ma on ac chargers.

Any ideas on why this is so and possible solutions? Thanks.

I'd need an actual set of measurements - taken with Ammeters (or milliAmp meters). There's no way a charging app can actually measure charging current - you have to cut one wire to measure the current flowing through it. If the battery isn't using the extra current to charge, where is it going?
