Well copyright and trademark protection in China is a wild west a lot of the time, although it is getting better.

Think it often comes down to if they think it's going to cause problems with brand identity and customer confusion. Same non-dictionary word, i.e. "Oppo", but completely unrelated products. Oppo China doesn't own or assert the trademark for novelty apparel, and Oppo Belgium doesn't own or assert the trademark for tech products, phones, etc. It shouldn't be a problem for anyone to realise they're not going to be able to buy a smart-phone from Oppo Suits. Although trademark law can get horribly complex.

Apple Corps. vs Apple Inc. Although that was finally resolved.

What does the Chief want for Christmas?

More quality time with my Darling Bride of 25 years. A better life for our two grown kids than we had. The dream home I've designed for us on a nice 20-acre plot of wooded land. To make my parents proud of my achievements. To know and cherish my friends and neighbors more.

And the Star Wars VII 3D Blu-ray as soon as it comes out :D :p
