Root What is the latest ROM that has everything working?

I don't need KitKat or JB or even ICS necessarily... but I do need bluetooth and the cameras, and 4G to work completely. So what's the latest, stable rom (preferably with some nice speed-boosting optimizations) that is stable and fully functional?

That my friend would be BlueKingdom or CM 10.1 nightly unofficial both made by Jssa28

I must be looking in the wrong place, because I can't find a good version of CM10.1. Can you help me out with that?

I did try to get BlueKingdom, but I think my download might have gotten corrupted or something, because when I try to flash it, it aborts with the error "Status 0." I'll try redownloading I suppose. Is 1.4 the latest?

edit: I did it over, and I get the same error. =/

try downloading bluekingdom and check the md5 sums to see if it downloaded correctly

also some other roms for the design are ForgottenKingdom, Heavenly Divine Rebirth Final. EvilKingdom

when on windows, mac or linux check md5 sums by:
Linux: md5sum (filename)
i don't know of windows and mac because i am on Linux

lol why did you even bother writing it, then? Anyway Windows doesn't have a built-in tool to check, but google can find one. This one was the top result when I searched. Here's an official one from Microsoft, but it's a command-line tool.

Anyway I just checked and it didn't match. Weird. That explains why it didn't work, though.

4G support is very unlikely on any ROM besides stock. There might be an exception in the future, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Wimax very much a legacy thing these days.

That's unfortunate. I guess 4G isn't as high a priority for me as having the working cameras. I don't tend to use a lot of data when I'm away from wifi anyway, and 3G does fine for facebook and reddit (usually).

There are device-agnostic supporting bits of code that haven't been updated because nobody thought it was worth it. I might be wrong though, and it's always possible someone will decide to do the work.

I had blue kingdom rom installed and someone mention using 4g toggle for evo app at the google play store. Does that not work? I did download before reverting back to the original no rom status. I read that the app worked, one would know if the 3g symbol next to wifi signal was not on. So I downloaded and sure enough the 3g symbol would dissapear once I turned on the app. But I did not know how to meassure signal to see if 4g was actually on.

You could do a speed test?

After testing many other roms, I wound up installing SS Ultra and that's what I'm still running now. 4G appears to work, but there is no 4G service at my house so I haven't been able to connect and test it. I was able to catch some while riding in the car last night, but it kept dropping =/

BlueKingdom is only a modified stock ROM, not one built from source. It makes sense that WiMax would work on it.
