What Rom should I choose?

I'm coming from Fresh Rom build 2.3.3, and I haven't been kind of cut off from the Rom community for the past several months. My phone is getting ridiculously laggy, so I want to update to a new Rom that will make my phone less laggy and more responsive. Any recommendations? Also, I think I want to go aps2sd this time, so that would be a nice feature for the Rom to have.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm loving the speed on .9.9.2 Froyo. A few other questions if you don't mind:

1. How do I get Sprint Visual Voicemail?
2. What does the GB Rom offer over the Froyo Rom? Is there any easy way to upgrade to it or should I just Nandroid Backup, wipe, and flash like I did with this one?

hmm... id say there about the same....aosp9.9.2 is faster scrolling(u could fix that with launcher pro,go launcher,etc)(iuse go launcher) idk really they are about the same

The Wiki for GB will have instructions for making Sprint VVM work, and I cannot tell you the differences unfortunately. I went from 2.1 Sense to 2.3 GB ROM.
