Which Android for ATT?

I have a quick question:

I would like an Android Phone, which android phone would be the best one that ATT has? Also, which is the best one for ATT for rooting?

Im asking for my brother, as he has seen and loves my rooted Droid, but he is with ATT, likes them, was wondering what is a good android phone on ATT of the likes of the Droid/Droidx??

For AT&T, get the Samsung Captivate. Even though it has its bugs (GPS and EMail), I'm sure they will be fixed soon. Its easily the best Android phone AT&T has at this point. I'm not sure if the Captivate has been rooted though. The HTC Aria on AT&T probably has been rooted, given how easy it is to root HTC phones these days. However, the Aria is not as powerful as the Captivate.

Samsung Captivate. There are some bugs but it's nothing that drives me too crazy. The positives outweighs the negatives by a lot IMO. And it's been rooted, haven't done it my self, but the option is there.

edit. but AT&T puts a ton of bloatware on it tho, drives me nuts. But you can remove it if you root the phone.

As others have said, the Samsung Captivate. It's the only Android device for AT&T really worth mentioning, to be honest. It can be rooted in a matter of clicks to, ridding you of that icky AT&T bloatware.

There are so many new phones, personally I would wait. There is still an HTC, Dell, and Motorola Android phones to be released yet on AT&T before the end of June. My preference thus far would be the Motorola shadow which just passed through the FCC.
