Can someone tell me witch roms are compattible with the Samsung Galaxy A3 at this moment? Can't find any information about this phone.

Have you tried using Google? There's masses of information on rooting and custom roms to be found

I am a bit of a noob on this subject. But a custom rom can be used on every smartphone type?

Of course I used Google. But as mentioned, on the Galaxy A-series there isn't that much information jet.

OK welcome on board:)
A custom ROM can only be used on a device it has been specifically built for. If you wish to install a custom ROM you must first root your phone. THis will give you more control over the device so you can remove manufacturer installed apps you don't need that are just taking up space. Drawbacks are you could "brick" your device ie render it useless and the fact your warranty will be invalidated.

I see your device should get the Lollipop update soon so if this is what you are looking for, it may be as well to wait for the update to arrive over the air.

Enjoy your phone

I have rooted my phone already. Looking now for a great mod to customize my phone.

But I guess a mod has not been developed yet for this phone.

Tips and downloads for my rooted phone are always welcome.

Ok the roms I have seen are all stock. The device was launched last October so I guess its early days for a custom rom. Check the xda site from time to time as that's probably where they will appear from.

You could look into Xposed Framework. It allows you to add many of the mods/features found in custom roms.
Make sure you make a nandroid backup in recovery before messing with Xposed :thumbsupdroid:

I have found the following: http://www.cwm-twrp-recovery.org/mp3-0/samsung-galaxy-a3-6762.html. Looks fine. Will try it next week.

I have already messed it up, removed a wrong app and get now com.android.phone errors... Will make a new thread about this.

EDIT: Made a mistake in the title of the thread I saw. Maybe someone can adjust it so other googlers can find this thread too. Would be handy for them I think.
