Root Wifi Tether

Hey just bought into this phone... A little late I know, but I came from the Optimus Elite where we had no Wifi Tethering except Barnacle. Is that the case with the Triumph as well or can we tether to our hearts content?

I know it worked at one time, at least on CM7. Try it out and let us know. I don't have the phone hooked up to service, but I can still try things, if I get time this weekend.

I can also confirm this. I'm currently running MTDEV CM7-20121015 and it's been a while since I've used the hotspot feature so I turned it on and I'm using it to post this reply

Is there anything lost using that MTDEV build?
I think I read somewhere you lose HDMI but that is no biggie for me

That, and video is a little "glitchy" in portrait mode. Landscape, however is fine. Actually portrait is ok when upside down... that must be enabled in settings to work.

The paranoid ICS build also has wifi tether built in...works great.
as does the camera. no HDMI.

My MT is rooted but I kept the stock ROM, and I'm able to tether my netbook using Barnacle Wifi Tether. I did have to change the MTU on the netbook to 1472, but after that, it worked perfectly.
