Root Will rooting solve slowness/lag after update?

I hope this does not sound like a dumb question (and please forgive me if it does!), but I have just about had it with my phone......I bought the phone about a month before the jb update and it was working great (I upgraded from a Prevail due to the Prevail being slow). After the update, the Rush has been extremely slow when opening apps, searching the web, accessing contacts and texts, etc. I can only assume this is due to the update.

Even though I had rooted my Prevail, I had not done so to the Rush yet. I was holding off to make sure rooting would still be stable after the jb update. My question is this (finally, right?)---will rooting my Rush make it faster and more responsive at this point???? If not, I may have to throw it out the window because it is driving me insane!!! I have even thought about resurrecting my Prevail!! I think it may have been a little faster than this even. lol

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Try one of the Project Butter Roms, and see witch one works best for your needs, (I haven't heard anything negative about them yet)
Also, try turning off animations, it helped others

I braved it and went ahead and rooted my Rush and it may be all in my head, but it does appear to be less "laggy". Time will tell......I am having in issue with link2sd and my sd card, but that's for another thread.

You can try freezing apps using titanium backup so that it doesnt waste memory, Project Buttery goodness has seriously depleted some good memory here.
