Root Will Verizon work on unlocked HTC Inspire 4G

I have a HTC Inspire 4G that has been unlocked. I currently have verizon service and my phone does not have a simm card. Verizon told me that if
I purchased a phone that needs a simm card, I can go in to a local verizon store and pick up a free simm card for it. However, if I do this, when I go to activate it will they even program it since the Verizon doesn't carry the HTC model Inspire ?? They always ask what model or model number the phone is when programming a new phone.

bascially,they did not give you correct information in regaurds to the inspire. now if you picked up a used thunderbolt,rezound,or other LTE device requiring the sim,then you could indeed go to a store,and they will provide a sim and activate it(tho it may or may not be free.seems to depend who you talk to)

but unfortunately,the inspire used GSM frequencies for talk and text,and verizon uses cdma. there is no way to get any gsm phone to work on vzws service. believe me i wish there was... i actually picked up a second phone line(t mobile) in order to play with gsm phones

if youre planning to stick with vzw,your best bet would be to sell/trade the inspire for some other vzw compatible phone. the thunderbolt is very similar in specs and appearance. the rezound is a nice upgrade from that with more ram,bigger screen,and a better processor. both can be found pretty reasonable on craiglists or ebay these days
