Xiaomi introduces electric scooter and laser projector

Xiaomi is adding a couple of new quirky accessories to their growing range of products. They have an electric scooter and a laser projector on the way.

Of course Xiaomi owns Ninebot, who in turn owns Segway. So scooter/hoverboard type things is no surprises really.

Saw a guy a few nights ago riding a hoverboard with blue lights up a little hill in the housing development i work at and it blew my mind it took him up the hill.

That projector though, where would they put it? This guys board was maybe an inch and a half above the ground.

Would he project on the curb; Who could see that?

They're fine on smooth surfaces and can handle gradients. But even a small pothole, you may end up flat on your face. I've seen it happen more than once.

In the UK they're completely illegal for road and pavement use, and the police may stop and fine anyone seen riding one. China on the other hand, anything goes.

No way the PRC has potholes as deep as Boston MA. Seriously

Most Chinese cities are pretty good, but you have to be careful.

Does Boston have manhole covers like ours?

That would probably swallow a scooter or hoverboard, and the person riding it.

OT: I've walked by a manhole cover/Might have been a sewer system cover that I could have tripped into in Boston. The sidewalk collapsed with the curb into the sewer! Pennywise lives there.

Still need to know what the projector projects on?
