Irvine has 4G!! 4G at Culver and the 405. My house is in Woodbridge and I get one bar of 4G. Speedtest shows 2.74 Mbps download and upload at 0.41 Mbps (funny that upload is same as my 3G.) I get better Wi-Fi speeds on my N router, but still YEAH because it means 4G is going to be all over the OC very soon.

Isn't the 4g speed supposed to be like 6+ mbps? Is it possible we are getting only 2mbps cause antenna aren't fully turned on ? Or they throttled back right now?

All I know is I'm in a nice 2 mile 4g bubble and hate when phone goes back to 3g lol...

It's not OC, but I've been picking up a regular signal downtown since I got my EVO - it sometimes picks up a mile or so south of town on the Harbor freeway until I lose it, and I've never gotten anything in the South Bay where I live - until today! I was at Artesia and Hawthorne Blvd and turned off and then back on the 4G and grabbed a signal - over 5Mbs down although showing weak bars. I was able to keep a constant most all the way down 91 to the harbor freeway onramp in Gardena - it's happening in LA!

I have 4G @ JWA!!!! Sure, it's like 0 bars but it's connected!! :D

Ok i found 1 bar (2 if you hold it above your head) at my office's south window facing Newport Beach. Hitting 3.7Mbit/s!! Upload is a measily 312Kbit/s

Three of us in my office (Jamboree and the 405 Fwy) have Evo's, and we have all been able to connect to 4g since Monday. It ranges between 0 and 1 bar and generally stays connected (the northeastern part of the building has a stronger signal).

Only downside is that it sucks down the battery pretty good. Anyone know if there's a stronger 4g signal, the battery isn't depleted as fast?

The antenna is on top of university of phoenix building@ the 405/ bristol exit.. That antenna seems to be sending signal about 1-3 miles in all directions depending on terran and buildings....... They turned that antenna on sunday night...

So if your looking for bette r signal point your phone towards
Bristol and the 405 free way

And the antenna at culver and 405 is live also... So whatever your closer to point that way... Lol...

I'm in Signal Hill/Long Beach area and I get a strong 4G connection at home. I work at the Howard Hughes center off of Howard Hughes Parkway and get no 4G but drove into Century City today to a client meeting and had 4G with one bar. My friend lives in El Segundo just off of Main Street and the 4G comes and goes when I'm there.

My kids say I get giddy like a girl when my 4G connects at home - but perhaps since I am a girl I'm allowed to get away with it. ;)

I get a fair signal outside my office in Arnold (North end) with about 8 meg download. Inside the building, it is spotty.

At my home in West County, it's about 8meg when outside and nothing inside.

But, good news, 4G equipment has been installed at an existing tower not far from Page avenue extension. Its located on Amiot, near Weatherfield. Not turned on yet, but workers told me it was Clearwire equipment. It's about 400 feet from my house so it should be really good.

There's 4G connection at Lemon St. and Valencia in Anaheim, I got connection at Sonic's Drive Thru. I just learned today that my ex-girlfriend works as lease negotiator on bringing the antenna towers here in Orange County especially Clearwire channels. She said to me that there will be 4G connection stretching Los Angeles all the way down to San Diego. OC will be fully implemented by the years end she says.

Hey guess what? I am connected to 4G on the Semoran area (by the airport) ....

What?????

I'm driving there right now!

This is good news.

EDIT: OH MY GOD, I JUST TURNED ON 4G AND IT TOOK IT!!!!!!!

I cannot believe it. We have 4G!!!

Inside my apartment, Altamonte Springs, FL

I have no bar whatsoever, only the 4G icon turned on.

Did a speed test:

DOWNLOAD: 1905 kbps
UPLOAD: 375 kbps

This is the best weekend for EVO owners in Orlando.

Froyo in a few days and now 4G is operational.

That is correct. Very poor signal.

Are they testing? No announcements, nothing (that I am aware of).

Only the 4G icon turned on, and no bars whatsoever from 4G icon or the signal and I got almost 2,000 kbps download speed.

Oh man.

I put Sprint TV to test it and it looks way so much better now, in comparison with 3G

This is really good news.

Yeah I believe that they are testing it, however the speeds seem to be the same as WIFI for me although I only get 2.4 down.

My speeds with 3G range from 500-900 kbps (with full bars), I have no bars from 4G and 2,000+ kbps.

I just did another test with 4G/no bars. 2,500 kbps.

But I am at home, so I turned off 4G and using my WI-FI to save battery.

I live between downtown and the airport and get great signal in my apartment . his is gonna be a good weekend......... now to get the update for froyo and I'm set.

I am at work right now, is there anyone on the Altamonte Springs are that can tell me if we have 4G there?

I am in Lake Mary, no 4g.

I did see a crane lifting something to the cell tower in area where I work. :D

I was in downtown this morning and did not get a peep from my EVO about a 4G signal.
