LauncherPro vs. GO launcher EX

hi all,

i was all for GL before EX version but for some reason dont like it so much with current version - ive moved to ADW and think it is very good - pretty similar to GL EX i reckon - better themes as been around longer - havent tried ADW EX though

App draw is best on ADW i think - can really set it up nice so is good to use
 
I've used all three, with Launcher Pro the longest, ADW the second longest, and Go Launcher EX was just............meh. I didn't really like it. Right now I'm using ADW with a Nexus S Gingerbread theme.

In my opinion,
ADW>Launcher Pro>Go Launcher EX
 
I have used LauncherPro for long time but I have tried GO launcher EX too. The app drawer and home screen ordering part are better than in LauncherPro but there is problem if I used with 4x5 or 5x5 screen settings. In that case the widgets are overlapped each other a bit. The widget resizing is absolutely correct in LauncherPro but in GO Launcher EX is not.
 
I'v used both free versions of Go and launcher, actually AWD too but dint really like that one at all, but both launchers are good in their own ways. I use Go right now just because I like the randomn screen transistion feature. But I used Launcherpro for the longest but it started bugging my phone some so I uninstalled.

You should look into getting Colorize Widgets. It completely mimics LauncherPro Plus's widgets, even the contacts widget. If you google Signals23 Colorize Widgets, you should find some themes for Colorize as well. As it comes in the market, you can change the colors of the widgets too.
 
Can someone who has used both list some pros and cons of each, which one you like better, etc?

Can you resize widgets with Go?

To be honest forddna, there's not a lot to choose between them.

I would suggest, as they are both free from the Market, that you give them both a try to see which one suits your particular needs and likes.

I use Launcher Pro because it runs smooth and fast on my phone and has some very nice widgets included, such as Calendar, Favourites, Twitter, etc:

I've used ADW, LPP, and GO. I'm sticking with LPP for now. It seems to be more stable, runs smoother, and allows me to customize more to what I like that what GO or ADW liked to do.

The developer seems more responsive to his product and feedback from users as well.

If I had to choose between the other two today, I would probably select GO. I like GO SMS and a couple of their other apps.
 
Go does more in it's free form that the free LP version does. So if you want free, I'd go w/GoLauncher Ex, assuming performance is similar - that you'd have to test on your own device by running both of them.

Both run very well, and both have good support from their developer teams.
 
I recently switched to Go from Pro. The main reason is that i under clock while the screen is off and that would make Pro crash probably 4-5 times a day. Go has not had this problem yet. I also like the custom number of screens. I have a few full 4x4 widgets and that space adds up quickly.
 
I recently switched to Go Launcher after using Launcher Pro for almost a year. I now prefer Go Launcher because it has the same features and a lot more eye candy with its effects. I also love how much easier it is to organize the pages. Out just feels more advanced. Thats why I prefer it.
 
I was using Go Launcher till my DHD upgraded to 2.3 and now its unusable, so slow and juddery just flicking through screens. Gone back to LauncherPro for now which is smooth as butter.
 
That's why folks need to try both...In my case Launcher Pro Plus runs smoother/faster on my D2 than GoLauncher when both are set up similarly.

Finding a launcher that you like is about 90% of liking your Android phone... :)
 
I was using Launcher Pro Plus since I had my phone with no problem. But once I rooted I don't know what happened. I got fc's at least 5-10 times a day. So I decided to try Go and I love it. It hasn't fced on my one. I also went from Handcenet to Go SMS and I am loving that as well.
