Beautiful Widgets Update

Beautiful Widgets just posted an update with full skinning support and a nice selection of download skins (including some great flip clocks in both the regular and small size). It looks better than ever :D
 
Great update, i've gone for Eclair (smaller).
I read somewhere that when you tap on the date the calender comes up yet mine does not, should it?

Edit: Just tried Naked Droid, that's sweet!
 
I was waiting for this update for the past couple days since I read about it on another forum... This is great. I was tempted to purchase the Weather Widget - Donate for its skinning support, but now I won't have to :)

I was hoping there would be skinning support for the other toggle widgets (bluetooth, wifi, gps, vibrate, etc.) but unfortunately not. Hopefully in the next update (hint hint, devs :p)?

Another thing I would absolutely LOVE to have is to be able to obtain more detailed forecast information from the weather widget. I really loved the detailed forecast in other apps such as Weatherbug, but the widget was so ugly I couldn't bare to use it lol. If this feature was included in beautiful widgets, it would be irreplaceable!
 
Any one try to make their own skin yet? I went to the LevelUp site and downloaded the template kit and created my own. I figured it would be as simple as make up one, copy it to the appropriate place on the SD card, and apply it. Unfortunately, it's not that easy to apply a self-made skin, as it did not show up in my skin list. Do we have to submit it first, or what?
 
Aside form the skinning (which is awesome), smaller home works properly now. It never scaled right on the Droid's WVGA screen in landscape, but now it does.
 
I see that the skin collection is growing! It is great to see that the despite the barrage of negative comments after they were forced to change their layout the developers of Beautiful Widgets more than rose to the challenge and exceeded at least my expectations.

Use your favorite file manager (I use ASTRO). On your SD card go to the directory /data/beautifulwidgets/skins. My guess is that you can then just delete the unwanted sub-directories.
 
been hearing a lot about this but im still enjoying the original beautiful widgets clock.. i backed it up just in case so i might try it out. if i dont like it, just remove it and reinstall the older version
 
I'm not sure if this has been asked, but was the old clock and weather widget (the clock that looks more like the hero with the weather icon in the middle of the widget) removed from beautiful widgets? I really liked the look of that one and the weather seemed to animate more.

yes it was.. he got a letter from HTC to either 1) change the design or 2) pull the app.

it was off the market for a few days and he changed the design. a lot of us are still using the hero looking design and wont update. i also backed up the apk file to my sd card just incase i ever update it so i can go back to the older version
 
I hope this isn't a stupid question (or one that has already been asked and answered): after I power off my Droid, the status bar weather notification from Beautiful Widgets doesn't load. I have to go into "Configure" in Beautiful Widgets and select "Temperature notification" and save each time. This did not happen with the WeatherBug widget, which I don't run anymore since I downloaded BW.

Is there a way to keep the weather notification automatically reloading after shut down?

Any chance you are running a task killer? That has created similar problems for me in the past.
