Android Tv Box Flexiview FV-1

I'm interested in the FlexiView FV-1 but has anyone tried using an RDP Client app to run a Windows Remote Desktop connection? I would really like to know it would make a good remote desktop workstation.

Thanks

If you mean using Android box to remotely control your Windows PC, Teamviewer for Android should work excellently for the job.

This is great thread. I have read almost all posts, and i am interested for two years now in media player like this.
Just want to ask. I am looking at the asiapad site. They have more players with android. Why is just this FV1 so well accepted? What about other products of Geniatech like ATV1000/2000/3000.

I am still looking for media player with android having dvb-t mpg4 decoding. ATV2000 of Geniatech have the decoder for dvt-t just mpg2, but where is the connector for antenna?

thanks for great thread again

Hi,
Just bought a FV-1 Android TV box and pretty impressed with it.

A couple of questions.......

1). Gallery photos playing from my Picassa web albums are slow to resolve into sharp images when changing to the next photo in the album, either manually of running slideshow. Also, can you change the slideshow speed?

2). TVNZ video on demand plays in a low resolution (300), and I can't select at higher rate (700, or 1500). YouTube on the other hand, plays a very acceptable sharp and smooth image.

3). You tube selections often play the same bunch of videos, usually x-factor clips that are completely unrelated to what I have searched for to play.

4). Would plugging in a large SD card increase internal memory to allow for better streaming and inprove the issues in questions 1 and 2?

Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks.

Hi everybody, for those who can't find the new market or some applications I do this:

You need:
-android phone
-Astro file manger https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro&feature=search_result
-Es File Explorer https://market.android.com/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&feature=search_result

Then:
  • Install from the market the app you want into the phone
  • Backup it up with Astro file manager
  • Transfer the backup file to the FV-1 using Es File explorer via bluetooth
  • Install into the FV-1 (remember to check unknown sources)
  • Back it up with Astro (for future firmware updates)

I used this for the new market and for a lot of apps that I get into the phone but aren't available into the FV-1 market.

Cheers

I think it is because the FV1 box has been out a lot longer and has so many resellers. As for Asiapads forget it I ordered a Geniatech unit a week ago and it still has not been posted despite instant payment and query to them as to what is going on.
I think you will find the Geniatech product will available from a lot of sellers sonn similar to the FV1

Hello
I bought the FV-1
I wanna mount CIFS Samba network files.
I wanna play avi with srt and only is posible (I think) from mount drivers.
The problem is that FV-1 doesn

Tested for several days.
I'm quite disappointed by the real resolution 1200x600 and by the airMouse (without a keyboard).
Moreover as Android you can not play DVD as iso format.
I can not play Video HD720p/HD1080i from my panasonic camera & camcorder .
As MediaPlayer something like WDTV is much better.

Hello,

Anyone knows if FV1 has tv tunner inside? On spech i see: Supports 1080p HD video, decode MPEG4/H.264/H.263/VC1. So can i watch channels on dvb-t mpeg4?

The others producst of Geniatech ATV2000 (w.geniatech.com/pa/atv2000.asp) has tv tunner with dvb-t MPEG2 (i need mpeg4). But i am not sure how this player receives digital tv without antenna connector on back side? The antenna is for wifi i supose.

Thanks again

My FV-1 finally arrived!
...and of course lots of questions arise.
1) I tried to update firmware to latest version, by copying UpdateKit folder (with android.osk inside) from USB stick to /data/UpdateKit but it seems like I don't have permissions to /data/UpdateKit!?!
2) Tried to connect a BlueTooth keyboard/trackpad combo (Rii) and even if I manage to pair, it just says "Paired but not connected" after pairing.

Thankful for any hints and/or pointers!

My FV-1 arrived yesterday at customs office :D
Hope the mail alert notification is at home already, so i can go tomorrow to pick it from post office.

Anxiety is killing me :D

One more question: Somehow the FV-1 refused to boot today (perhaps me installing an apk of dubious origin, reported to brick phones...) and had to flash FW using the SD card method. Anyway, I ran z4root 1.3 to root, which seemingly succeded. (If I run z4root again, it gives me the option to unroot which makes me believe it worked.) However, if I try to remount /system R/W or enter "su" from terminal emulator, it says I'm not allowed.
What am I missing?

I don't know which shipping method seller used, but if he assured me he would give me a track number, then i am 99% sure it will arrive (even if it gets blocked at customs)

pm me if you want me to give you the link to ebay item i bought

Thanks for your quick reply, I have bought already from DHgate. I was wondering about the customs and the mail service your seller has used. I have pm you so we dont change the subject on this very useful thread.
