Leaked Update

I'll wait... just got my #2 Nexus today via Fedex and first thing I did was the 2.1 update1... but gonna wait for something more "official" before installing anything "leaked"...

Poo, it's only for root anyway... never mind.

Think it'll generate some interest due to the new radio though.

Appears to be the fix for the pink blob on the camera. I have no more pink blob after installing however white balance appears to be kind of flakey sometimes white comes out yellow or greenish depending on the lighting. Still much better than a pink blob in the middle of every picture!

80mb for that?

I haven't seen any "pink blob" with the pictures I have taken so far..

Here's one I took a week ago or so when I got the phone (This was taken inside looking through a window..a dirty one at that.)

So it just a camera fix? Theres gotta be more to it. And try taking pics in a darker environment. There's a light reddish pink hue on people.

Less pink blob in this one, it is a software problem with the white balance and very important fix for me happy to have it:

Hopefully next time I won't have any pink blobs LOL

Take a picture of white paper without flash in normal to low lighting you will see it quite prominently. It seems to be mostly a problem only with white backgrounds.

All these inanimate objects that require my services as mother to their children. They would be beautiful, and perhaps a little Borg-looking. That car is yummy in a really obnoxious way :D Also looks like the pink's there on purpose, makes it look very arty.

LOL Yes, sometimes it works with the picture but more often than not you end up with people looking like they have a sunburn :D It really was a big problem for me almost to the extent of wanting to go back to iphone. I am glad they are working on fixing it as I really love this phone and did not wan't to have to go back to iphone!

Good point, I'm sure that 99.9% of the time the pink is super-irritating. But IMO it's def software-based problem, and so a fix will turn up soon. Would be nice if it is included in the next OTA.

Yea it is same problem they had on HTC HD2 but they fixed that with a software update so it appears they are working on it for this update. I am relieved to know they should be able to fix it with a software update for sure! I don't know what else the update is for though have not noticed anything else yet.

what happens if you mess with the white balance settings? i dont have this pink blob problem and my white balance is set to auto

New info:

You DO NOT have to be root after all, you have to name the file PASSIMG.ZIP and put it into the root of the SDCARD.

Get into the bootloader and it will ask you if you wish to update.. I have, am now on ERE36B

I can also report that the dots on the home screen aren't fixed.

Bad news is (and I didn't realise at the time) that it resets the phone, so my messages and apps have gone walkabout. Arse.
