Anyone tried this yet?

Not quite there on features yet, but regular updates and I can see this being a big player.

Loving the skins and animations. Zoom wheel is pretty cool too or you can use a slider if you prefer.

Was playing around with some of the new skin packs - one of them is kind of scary!!
 
Camera Pro is cool too, but Camera ZOOM is definitely my favorite - customisable skins, cool animations, picture frames, circular zoom wheel.

Probably needs a few more features still, but the devs are updating it very regularly - I think its already pretty high up in the paid apps list.

Fair enough - don't use digital zoom if you don't like it.

But the camera zoom app itself is catching up fast with SnapPhoto and it seems like it should match all its features before too long.

Plus its much faster and easier to use, also has custom skins, borders, animations. Pretty cool app.
 
Well I am in touch with the developer who has been very helpful and listened to lots of my ideas for the app. Some have already been implemented.

I used SnapPhoto before this but now that Camera Zoom gives me zoom together with 70% of SnapPhoto advanced features, plus a faster and easier interface, I shall stick with Camera ZOOM and help to promote it of course!!
 
thanks for the posts guys - omg just discovered this - how long has this been out?!

It is like 100x better than Snap Photo - it doesn't have crazy icons which I can't figure out - everything is really easy to use. Check out circular zoom too - nice!!!

Best of all are the free shutter packs - I now see Terminator every time I take a picture!! New borders too!

All it needs now is burst mode and some post-picture filters but tbh, this gets my vote every time!
 
I bought camera zoom but it is flakey on my G1. Most of the time it doesn't save the photos. This is extremely annoying. Sometimes it saves about the top 20% of the photo with the rest of the jpeg black. I'm pretty disappointed especially since I paid for it.

I emailed the developer, we'll see what happens.
 
@atatistcheff, i've never had any probs saving pics - hopefully the dev can fix this for you ...

looking forward to more updates soon!!
 
Emailed developer, very responsive. Suggested I try formatting the SD card to FAT32. Ended up changing the jpeg quality from 100% to 85%, formatting SD card and going back to original default skin. So far it's saving photos just fine. I really like the digital zoom and the timer feature.

Just to let everyone know about some new updates this week :

Camera ZOOM 1.4.1 now released which offers :
- customizable fling actions, e.g. fling left to change buddy, fling up to change border, or configure as required
- requester link to request your own skin / buddy
- disable camera preview option whilst saving previous picture (faster save time)

Also look out for new free buddy packs being released this week!

Been using this for a while now.

Its good ... yes even better than SnapPhoto!

The burst mode works really well with the photo booth too - thanks dev :):)

Voted for Camera ZOOM of course.

I just hope enough people have had the chance to try out Camera ZOOM as they will surely love it too!! I know your main competitor has been out longer but its nowhere near as good as this!

The results were close ... in fact almost too close to call - this is what I heard back from the organizer this morning :
'Snap Photo Pro got 44% while Camera ZOOM got 40%. The difference was about 50 votes'

We are very pleased with this turnout - obviously we would have been even more pleased had we won (!), but to achieve such a huge response within less than 3 months on the market is a huge result for us - so thanks again to everyone for the support!

Some copy protected apps are missing on certain new handsets - Google are looking into this issue.
