Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

If we are comming off your 1.5 no touch wiz rom, should we do a factory restore or something else before ODIN? If so can someone explain to me what it is, as I hear peopel say factory restore, refresh, defaults and I want to make sure to get it right.

No need to do anything but install the new odin rom

Yea, BH_Man made it do so since his 1.5 no twiz odin package had a problem with the cache not clearing and phones would lock up in an unresponsive way, forcing a battery pull reboot. The trick around that was to factory restore then odin in manual fashion, but I guess he includes the factory restore in the Odin now to make it automatic.
 
I found an app called smart vibrator app but havent had a chance to look and see if it will work or not yet. I am charging my phone now then will update to the newest pack and see. I went back to the stock/twiz last night after i tried to put the stock keyboard on the build and it wiped out everything back to the original state after the port over. I did something wrong but I dont know what yet.
 
anyone else not have the market app? i don't think i screwed anything up but i don't have the market on my phone now. anyone else seeing this? how can i install it manually?
 
damn it, a few of my paid apps are still not in the market!

@BH_MAN, so did you decide not to impliment the camera you found that had zoom?

did you have any paid apps missing in the last 1.6 rom???
I'm missing not all of them but only a few, and the only one I really care about that is missing is WeatherBug Elite, can you search ion market and tell me if you see the paid version of weatherbug!
 
I didn't have any missing apps on the beta edition or R1. I only have Beautiful Widgets, Weather Widget - Donate and Better Keyboard.

When searching my market I could only find the regular WeatherBug and WeatherBug Locator

ok thank you so that tells me that the build.prop was still not fixed, BH_MAN probably just forgot!

@BH_MAN is there anyway to fix that with an adb command, so you dont have to make a whole nother rom! Please!!!! I love my little weather bug!
 
A note about ROOT - near as I can tell you can't gain ROOT access without turning on USB Developer Mode... So if you SU via Terminal (rather than ADB) it wont work if you haven't yet switched Developer Mode on. If you can ADB to the device then you have Developer Mode turned on or else ADB wouldn't work :)
 
BH_MAN i definetly think u should replace stock media player with Nemo Player(Rockon player is good also but interface not as clean),i looked on google and it says that Nemo Player is up to ver 2.0 but all i could find was ver 0.92,im sure with your connects u can get us the latest one(from new Acer Liquid system dump).Another one i can think of is Dolphin Browser its way faster and better than stock and lets u download any type of files,i think most of us use Dolpin or Steele(i delete my stock browse completely).One more i can think of is Handcent MMS i think that most people use it over stock and its free(hopefuly remain that way).And one more that not many people know about is Twonky Media Server Server,with it u can stream music and videos to PS3,Xbox360,and PC its free for now.And keep the Swither App.U can only include free apps i asume?

1 Nemo Player(Acer Liquids stock media player)
2 Dolphin Browser or Steele(should vote on it)
3 Handcent MMS

For those that dont know,if u put any app in /system/app folder and fix permissions(easily done with Root Explorer),when u do system restore those apps are automaticly installed.You can modify what apps u want and delete ones u dont,for example u can delete stock browser,mms,music player just to name a few and replace them with apps u usualy use,and when u do system restore apps u deleted are gone and new apps are installed.Big ups to BH MAN for this new rom.
 
I like the switcher app for wifi/blutooth/gps/sync that was in one of the stock no twiz builds. Anyone have any idea what the name of it is or where I can get it?
 
I goofed up the Mount.... If you want to adb push with out permission denied... Type in

mount -o rw,remount /dev/stl9 /system

oh i said the same thing earlier but we have the widget already, it's called power control i think
