Ok im still new to the Android world. Im a old timber berry hacker and has recently came to the Android world. So since I thinker with roms slit I have been wanting to know the definition and uses of a kernel. So can anyone help me out on this thanks.

A kernel is basically the bridge between applications and the data processing at the hardware level. It serves as a level of abstraction for communication.
