Anyone checking out "Under The Dome" on CBS? The pilot episode is very good! Tune in NOW!

Watched it but I thought it was too short, if that makes any sense. They should have done a 2 hour pilot.

I didn't even know it was based on a Steven King novel. Good thing is I have amazon prime and they will replay it on AP throughout the season

First episodewas good. Plots set, good guys and villains have claimed their stakes. Looking forward to next Sunday

Isn't it on Monday nights? I think last night was a replay

You are right, its Mondays. And I thought the same about a special 2 hour pilot. I was expecting the previews shown at the end of the episode would lead into the second hour. That would have been an even better hook on viewers for sure and made the first telecised episode(s) more memorable .

How do you like the the plot so far?

I made an effort to watch it. Same old, same old. Been there and done that. Nothing new to offer except predictable banality. Man cut off from the rest of the world is an old plot line. Still effective.

Except . . .

Appatrently, no communicatio0ns between police and studio:

"A deadly serious deputy made an urgent radio call to his dispatcher, sounding the alarm that 20 shots were fired near an elementary school ... and TMZ has the audio.

The incident went down in Wilmington, N.C. last week, when a TV production crew -- working on a Stephen King show, "Under the Dome" -- staged a shootout scene in a park near the school. The shots were fake, but no one clued in police or school officials ... and they treated it like the real deal.

Pretty scary. "

Just ask Homer and Marge about the dome over Springfield.

I thought a few scenes were interesting, but every scene in the promos took place in the first few moments of the film. I hope it gets better.

Except . . . we do not know if the guy burying the body in the opening scenes is good or bad. I like not knowing.

Yes, that very beginning scene of the guy burying a body seems to be the mystery that gets carried deep into the show before whats behind it is revealed episodes later. Seems like last nite set the "relationships" scene" like the good sherrif-heart condition vs some guy who threatens to claim authority.

Wow, it was filmed in your city! Hope you managed some cameo appearances and "not one of the early appearancesv, halfened by the invisible shield...

I will check out the link today. thanks for that inside first-hand news info too! I cant wait to see it......will at my lunchhour.

If it follows the book, I can ruin the mystery of Dale Barbara.....but I won't.

Mista Tali-mon! I went to univ. a couple yrs and we called the metrop "KnoxVegas!" Wow I see your a Nash Vegas siggy!

Nooooooooo! Dont....ok, do!...nooooo wait, dont!.....awwwe hayale Do!.....no no dont....lol!
Yep i want it to be a surprise too. So far it looks like this will not be a "L.O.S.T. groundshog-day" type series where every episode was the same as the last! STILL i am trying to understand just HOW they managed to squeeze that long of a series out of L.O.S.T by playing the same thing over and over and over and......

Did you listen to Madey's REAL police reaction to the filming in his city? Its scary to know that was an actual reaction!

I think I need to read the book first. I could probably hold off on the TV series and read the book before the season finishes and just DVR all of the shows :D

Not bad. Too early to tell. It reminds me a little like "Jericho", which I thought was a good show that didn't get enough support from CBS.

Oh yes i am with you on Jericho! Loved the show and had great potential. My favscene was when they used a Snow Patrol soundtrack when "Skeet" pulled over on the road, noticing birds dropping dead inflight..sort of like last night scene when the birds hit the invisible shield

I wanna see it..... Missed it twice. Is there an app I can download to watch the first two before next Monday? Love Stephen movies!

Hey NKirk! Welcome! You missed it!!!! Check online and see if the network has a replay. I am going to do that myself also!

Cool that your first post is here "under the dome!"

From what I've seen, so far it is so so...I don't think it's as good as the Twilight Zone.

MAN! I am a huge Twilight Zone Fan , both the originals and the new series that aired in the early 1990s.
You are right, UTD does not out rank the Classic Dome (the zone)

Watched the first four episodes on demand. It's not bad so far, following the book pretty closely from what I remember. I won't spoil anything, but I'll just say I hope they come up with a better ending than the book had.

I love Stephen King but this is sometimes a problem with his books. It's like he gets to the end and then gets stumped so just tosses something out there. 'IT' comes to mind, a spider? Really. That was a page turner for me and I was so disappointed, such a let down. 'The Dome' was too, not in the same page turner way as 'IT' and others, but a let down at the end.

Nawwww @Clemmie! Dont tell me yet what happens! Wait tilll we get our shipment of Krispy Kremes first! Then at least i will be so busy "processing" those morsels and wont have time to keep up on episodes. :D

Same here, love King but he is notorious for his sometimes bad endings. To me the ending of Dome is up there with "it was all a dream" as far as cop out endings go.

Lawdy S T O P! :D I just hope the series doesnt turn into a "L.O.S.T." flop. I mean i waited an entire week to see what was advertized in previews of the next episode, then find that the "new" episode started with a narrated "Previously! On L.O.S.T!...." followed by a 45 minute rerun....10 more minutes of commercials, leaving only 5 minutes of "new episode".....then the groundhog's-day cycle does it again ending the week with a "NEXT! On L.O.S.T.!"

Saw it for the first time last night. That was a really good episode! It definitely got me hooked "Oh what's going to happen next?!"

Definitely has a lot of King's favorite themes, like seclusion and creepy people (perfect mix for horror).
