Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

trying to odin the newest notwix update and after the android logo, screen goes black, no response to anything. I have to pull battery to restart phone, and it does same thing, tried re-odining it twice, no luck so far. whats wrong??

Try clearing your ext2 partition.

Pull the SD card... if it boot without the SD, then you didn't clear you ext2... btw, I strongly think is the case..

yes you can. pull the battery wait 5 min then replace it. set up your files in odin and then boot into download mode. to go into download mode hold the down volume button + the ok button + the end button and hold down until you see download mode then flash away. as long as you are only flashing the pda file you can't brick your phone.

yes I know how to odin, and that is what I did, and it does not work, I know the phone is not bricked, it just wont load anything now, like nothing at all...
 
so do i select the ops file that came with the rom when im using odin cause i use the ops file inside the odin folder then use the actually md5 for the PDA part
 
When I am trying to run adb shell it says device not found

I have usb debug checked and usb is mounted

What can I look for?
 
If you get Issue's with ADB, I have said this before..... Unplug the USB for 10 seconds, then plug it back in... Normally Fixes the device not found error...
 
BHMAN,thanx for this perfect rom,last one lagged a bit but this one is as fast as the Galaxy R8(maybe even faster).I dont think you can make this rom any better.Cant wait till you come out with "Bare bones rom" and 2.1.
 
Im getting a few bugs... dunno if anyone else is experiencing the same

Auto-Rotate on AdvanceLauncher FC
TwSetting.apk FC
Messaging FC (after pushing the mms.apk)
GPS connectivity problems... which i think its just me

Nothing that makes this great build unusable by any means... just wondering if there will be a fix in future release.

um? I think your the only one with that Issue... You might read the Thread regarding MMS,apk! other than that... Might try a Factory reset..

I followed the adb guide and Im confident i pushed the right file. The FC occurs during the initial boot up and the mms.apk application works fine otherwise.

Maybe I should do a factory reset, hopefully that'll fix the GPS and advance launcher problem.

But i think i'll wait for the next release before I reset everything :D:D:D

BH_MAN, can you please help me? I was able to odin everything absolutely fine until this latest no twix release. After the android screen, I get a black screen where I have no response or functionality, and now I cant re-odin any files whatsoever because I keep getting the black screen. Before trying to odin the no twix files, I had ZERO problems, and after this latest release, I have no phone. I've tried to search and do everything, and I just keep getting this black screen. What do I do?? PLEASE...

Um? Black Screen? You should never have a Black screen when in Download Mode for an ODIN Flash..

Second... Have you tried Pulling out your SD card like I had suggested before?

yea I jus get the black screen right before it loads into the rom after the android logo. I will try to odin without the sdcard in the phone and see how that works...
 
Ok. After I flashed the new rom rebooted my applications that needed root access prompted to allow. Cool. Drained the battery, then charged over night, turned it on and now the Apps that need root can't get root access. somewhere it get's disabled, but I have not a clue where.

So the guy that said that he may be the only one that this is happening to is not the only one.
 
Also, I can't remember what file to delete that will let the battery meters get in sync if when it creates a new file. Anyone remember? I saw it in this thread or the Factory behold 2 1.6 thread.
 
Installed this rom last night it's pretty nice but I had a question hopefully someone can help. Whenever I select for the 'processes' shortcut from astro to be on the desktop it never goes to the desktop. I use this feature a lot and it's a pain to have to open up astro and do it from there. Any help would be appreciated.
