It's spring and love is in the air and all that blahblah. But seriously... inspired by the struggle some of our members shared here, in their efforts to find the right partner, we might give them some moral support and show them love is around every corner. And simply because some are hilarious stories to share.
Soo... How did you and your partner meet?

Let me start... I was living in an apartment on the eight floor for 3 years and I had never met my neighbour. Totally different working hours. Our balconies were separated by a matte glass plate. Which was aweful. Being girlie, one spring day I bought some rich flowering, and fast growing passion flower plants in two large pots.
His balcony door was open so I called for him. He came outdoors, and I told him with my brightest smile 'passion was about to start growing between us'. :D
His response... 'Fine with me, as long as I don't need to water it...' :p
We got married within the first year, and will be for 12 years this summer.

Your turn now. How did you and your partner meet?

We went to high school together but I moved away. We never really met each other yet I knew his cousin who was in my grade. I eventually moved back to Texas. We started talking to each other on Facebook. I didn't remember him at first. Then we met up and...

Oh! You're his cousin aren't you?

3 years later, here we are!

A guy at work dragged me out one Friday night. After I kicked his *** at bowling, we went bar hopping. Ended up at a bar near my college. Two girls came in and sat down at the end of the bar. My buddy and I got up to play table hockey and when we came back some guy took my bar stool so the only place left to sit was next to these girls. The one next to me kept swiveling on her stool and bumping her knees into mine.

We didn't talk much ... just bar chat, but I got her first name and where she worked. Monday I called her at work to ask her out only to find it was her day off. The next day I called and did ask her out, so we made a date for Saturday which was St. Patrick's day 1984. Last week was the 30th anniversary of that date.

Next year is our 30th wedding anniversary.

Then ....

I was a teacher at an elementary school and he came by to ask if he could teach a clinic as a requirement for a college class. ( he went to the school as a kid)...also..he was 9 years younger than I:D We were both seeing other people at the time...but that didn't stop him...he kept asking me to breakfast lunch grab a bite..etc....one day after a half day of school I finally said ok I'll go have breakfast with you.... ...that very same night I dumped my boyfriend!:D

He was younger than I and still in college so I was leery? scared?...but We started dating and for 5 years he asked me to marry him every single day! All through college first jobs starting his career etc...anywho.. I finally said ok ( actually I think I just told him when and where to show up!:D

we have been married over 15 years and have two awesome boy's 11 and 14.

I guess any advice I would give is...first off dating is not about finding what you want...it's about finding what you DON"T want...:D

and also...if you are best friends above all else...you can go the distance..because friends are for real...they forgive..they say I'm sorry...they want you to be happy...they love you for who you truly are.. not for something they think you should be ..they give second chances...they have your back...and you have theirs..no matter what!

ok I rambled on enough:p

My buddy's aunt and uncle owned and ran a small tavern in our home town. Two pool tables, three booths, jukebox and a dozen or so bar stools. It also had to hot bar maids :) My buddy married one and I the other. We both celebrated our 40th anniversaries last year.

I took my wife out for a beer our first date. I asked if she wanted a beer from my favorite bar. Little did she know it was 75 miles away where I was going to college. :)
It gave us private time to talk. We got engaged a month later on Valentine's day and was married six months later. We have four children and three grandchildren.

Met my wife in high school when I moved to North Carolina. We were barely friends but had a lot of classes together. Both ended up going to UNC Chapel Hill where we got a little closer. Half way through the first semester I decided it wasn't for me and knew I was going to culinary school in the spring. Therefor, classes weren't all that important and I kept telling her to skip class and go hang out somewhere. When I left after the first semester her GPA dramatically improved. ;)
Fast forward about a year later, we talked on the phone a bit and started long distance dating. She'd visit me occasionally wherever I was whether it was in NY, CA or Kansas. Spent a summer with me when I lived in Kansas. Once she graduated I said wherever you can get a job I'll move there. We ended up in DC (Chicago was our first choice) and a few years later got married. :)

tl:dr -> High school. :D

We both was working for a hospital, but I was in the IT dept. which was in another building and she worked in the Lab dept. About once or twice a week I would have to call the lab dept. and have them turn their reporting system off for maintenance. When she answer the phone, she wouldn't do it and would always get someone else to do it.

I then would ask this one technician why Deb, the wife, wouldn't do it and the lady said she is just odd like that. So as time went on and she answer the phone I started telling her I want her to turn the system off, which she wouldn't. Then I just started asking her non job related questions and we started talking more & more each time I called.

I finally asked her out and she accepted. We've been together ever since. 14 years ago!

Had a class together, we were in a study group and split up chapters of a book to take notes and swap. She thought I was a complete poo because my notes were "incomplete". I considered them short and to the point. :dontknow: For some unknown reason she kept partnering up with me for homework.

We've been together 5 years now ;)

I was 13 she was 10. I was whistling on my porch on the third floor and she responded from the second floor porch of the building next door. I didn't actually meet her for another couple of days though,
