Root [Boost Mobile] Tri-Band S3 (SPH-L710T)

Question, is the axis alignment
g-sensor related? Idk saw this, might try checking the diagnostics.

oh & it was probably a screwed upload or an error encodimg On that zip. Ill take it off. Still working on this other one. I'll encode this one with different tools. JRummy's ZIPme is beta sorry about that.

It's fine. I had made a backup right before it, so when things went wrong, I just went back to beanstalk lol

As for the app, I have used it before, and when I did the ball on the screen (accelerometer) test, it went up and down fine. It detected Z (face up/down)... X was just reversed. Where it should be +1 it's -1 and vice versa. You move it left, the ball went right... It's just crazy.

Well, if you succeed, please do share. I'd like to get my S3 back up and running.

Any further news on if the modems worked? I was going to flash the same ROM you have and could use all the knowledge on this you would be so kind to give me.

Thank you in advance for your effort

Michael

Update- I've got the Conquest Singularity v9.4 ROM working correctly With Wifi & SparkLTE on the SPH-L710T.
I've aquired my MSL code through Boost
Hopefully I can get MMS working tonight. :D

In the original post, there is a guide to flashing the radio. It works perfectly. The issue with BeanStalk is rotation. It doesn't display landscape the right way, but everything else is fine

Have you tried modifying the dpi?
160 (higher res) 240 (med) etc
It may fix the landscape issue.
Anyways you could also use NOVA Launcher to try to fix it with landscape settings

wow.. lots of info.... few questions as my friend has the triband. I have boost non-triband.. (both our phones are boost)

so this can be rooted just with philz?
need SU or busy boxafter reboot?

Just install Philz. It does the work for you.
I feel kind of like a guru with this thing, as, well, aside from root questions, this is the only info thread of the T model.

I strongly suggest stock, or BeanStalk, as BeanStalk actually works... Though, others in the thread have found success with Conquest: Singularity.
My understanding is, with any custom ROM, the rotation would be wrong.

So first of all thank you a ton wykydtron and FoxTrot for supplying pretty much the only good source of info I can find it on this freakin' phone. You guys rock.

no longer seems to work, any chance you could upload it again? Either way thanks, you already helped plenty.

Guys, I read the posts in this thread I hope y'all can clarify something for me.

I just got my VM Galaxy S3 phone (SPH-L710T) today. I just rooted the phone with Philz Recovery and now I want to flash an ND8 Rom, either of the following:

Stock Rom: [STOCK ROM][4.4] ND8 Kitkat ROM | Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III | XDA Forums
Wicked X: [ROM][ND8][4.4.2] Wicked X v8.0 [Updated 8/1… | Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III | XDA Forums

To do this, in my previous vm galaxy s3 (SPH-L710) i had to first flash the ND8 modem via Odin [FULL RESTORE][TAR] Stock ND8 Odin FLASHABLE… | Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III | XDA Forums

The confusion:
-Now that I have the (SPH-L710T), if I try to first flash the ND8 modem, and then one of the ND8 roms above (or the singularity rom here), will I be able to start the phone?
-If i start phone, will i lose data and calls?
-If I flash the modem posted in the first post, will i regain data and calls AND be able to use the ND8 rom that I installed?

Please let me know if there is any certain order of flashing stuff so i can use a custom rom.

Thank you so much!

Installing ND8, then booting your ROM of choice should work. However, on boot, you will have no connectivity, data or otherwise. Flashing back to the T radio might break the ROM. I can't say for sure.

So first of all thank you a ton wykydtron and FoxTrot for supplying pretty much the only good source of info I can find it on this freakin' phone. You guys rock.

I do not agree with a device with such a fan base to have no information on it. I felt that many people would be getting it without realizing, as I did, so they needed to know what I knew.

Yes, I think a basic summary of rooting and working roms needs to be assembled.

This is all excellent info, but I can see folks dorking up the tribands since info is scattered throughout.

So I politely ask that we at least get rooting guide for tribands posted. And, modem files. Just a thought.

Thanks to o.p. for doin the risky business of testing.

I've been trying to keep the first post updated, and centered about the phone, and issues. I'll try to sort it out bit more.

But hey, the only reason I tested was trying to flash ND8, found out I broke it, and couldn't find a radio to go back to. That's where my thanks pass to wykydtron.

I can't find a landscape fix in Nova. And I have not tried DPI changing.

Edt:

Changed to 240. Like the look, but no changes in rotation.

Alert me if these fail please.
I'm working on some things at the moment in regards to making a custom patch to flash, porting & building for the d2lterefreshspr (boost).
-- dream big;)

EDIT: btw just tested the kernel on a custom rom for the a non-triband model & it fixes the landscape rotation issues. no more flipped inversion.

Quick question, I bought mine saturday it's a SPH-L710T will this root method applies for mine? After that, I need to install Superuser not SuperSU, am I correct? Thanks.

Use the tutorial for ODIN on the OP. As for the flash recovery i just posted it's unconfirmed at the moment. ** ODIN will trip KNOX thus manufacture warranty void. **& Philz Touch 6 has the option to install chainfire's SuperSU +root.
I've only used Superuser on older builds (like 2.3 lol)

I am uploading a Deodexed Debloated Rooted, Custom Recovery; Stock/TW rom right now. that linked rom wasn't properly coded. I took it down so ppl wouldn't mess their phones up. - i'll have to post it in a little bit.
probably going to need gapps aswell. it's the basis for a custom build I am doing.

Thanks for the advice, i will definitely check it out. So, Philz Touch 6 will also install recovery + root? Is that correct?

Correct. & I have tested the recovery flash zip it works. Still after the fact of my phone having it previously flashed with Odin. Make a backup with ADB, & Even Samsung Kies.

Philz TOUCH can be alittle sensitive: I almost corrupted my efs & device id just now but I had made several backups img & tar - and was able to restore my files completely.
That's not going to happen again-putting it on touch select only mode.

Courious what rom you used. Im on conquest and love it.

Friend has the triband and is lookin to flash conquest to his.

Thanks!

Seems no one is running an AOSP based ROM within this thread. I'm curious if anyone has flashed an October build from CyanogenMod with sound and data in general?

Please note that this will change your device build name to the sph-l710
