We had an old maple tree that blew over in a hurricane. It was uprooted and laid down along the river bank behind my house. That was our pirate ship, our fighter jet, or anything else we needed. It's still there, about 400' from my mothers house.

My uncle and I (uncle only 6 months older than I) had found an old record player including some old records.We had a beautiful piece of furniture that was a record player when I was young. It would only play 78's and Buddy Holly records were released on 45s. I remember that great Christmas that my sister and I got a record player so we could play something besides Glenn Miller. It looked similar to this:

I had that!I had an old Johnny Horton 45 with The Bismark on side A and Battle or New Orleans on Side B. I damn near wore that sucker out.![]()

I also bet it's in bad shape from the many times it was played. I was too poor as a child to have a great collection but I still have them.
