Root [Boost Mobile] Tri-Band S3 (SPH-L710T)

I personally have root but am staying away from flashing a rom. I am using gravity box to tweak things for now. I really hope a dev will step in soon and sort this phone out. It would be nice if we could get a few roms ported over.

The only ROM that works 100% is the Singularity ROM with Ktoonsez's TouchWiz kernel, as detailed by Jahziel near the top of this page.

Edit: Okay, near the top of the previous page since this post just happened to fall onto the next page.
Okay so I won't mess with ROMs so using kies only thing go to download mode and let keys handle the rest

NO KIES WILL NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR DEVICE IN DOWNLOAD MODE ...... IF YOU CAN GET INTO RECOVERY (VOLUME UP+HOME+POWER) THEN FLASH ONE OF THE PREVIOUS ROMS POSTED IN THE OP I POSTED ONE A PAGE BACK..... THEN WHEN THE PHONE BOOTS PUT PLUG BACK IN TO THE PC START KIES3 AND THEN SELECT TOOLS AND THEN SELECT FIRMWARE UPGRADE/INITIALIZATION ...... THEN WHEN FINISHED YOUR PHONE WILL BE RETURNED TO MAUNUFACTURER SHIPPED CONDITION!!!

The _Dumbest_noob, i tried your method but every time I click on firmware upgrade and initialization it shows me the TOS and after I aggree and click start I get a message saying "SPH-710T does not support initializing" can you help me out please and point out what could I be doing wrong.

I'm out of brick
Cool. Now, would you mind maybe explaining what exactly you downloaded and how you fixed it? That link says nothing about any kind of firmware download... except that nobody has it yet.
Did you just get it into download mode and flash recovery and a ROM?

What I did I flash the newest philz recovery from l710 and Odin

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5y5w6clj577wej9/AAB6nlA2caA6jjJZ1uJ3d63Da?dl=0 this all in this folder use Odin and use the philz recovery I place in this file then do a full wipe download conquest and the kernel flash conquest then kernel then reboot u should be good make sure u do the apns or not let the phone sit for a little but until u get 4 apns
How to fix a bootloop and get out of it
1.download Odin and philz recovery the latest one I put in the Dropbox.
2.put your s3 l710t into download mode open up Odin and flash philz recovery
3.download conquest and kernel and place it into the root of your sdcard or your internal whatever u like.
4.flash the conquest ROM and afterwards flash kernel then reboot.
5.give it ten mins or more to finish loading you should be good everything works u might not see lte BC it goes off and on but look at the access points and apns give it time to show 4 apns u can check from and if u can then update profile and prl you should be good

So you have a .tar of the firmware that's flashable in odin? Upload it!
Also, try not using all caps when you type. Just a suggestion.

Thank you, The_Dumbest_noob. :)

I have a Sprint L710t, so I wonder if this .tar would break my APN settings. I wonder if you can still flash and then use the APN fix to get back to Sprint. It's still cool how far we've come in the past few days. It's good to know there's more of a safety net when it comes to flashing these devices.

Btw, I'm still on stock. Still waiting for CM screen orientation to get sorted out or to get an AOSP ROM working. Has anyone tried posting about the L710t on XDA in the hopes of getting a developer or two interested in working on this device?

There are a few posts about the L710T on XDA, nothing explicitly requesting development on a kernel that fixes these issues though. I have no idea how to go about making that request either.

Also, I did some more testing and I got the latest version of ParanoidAndroid to work using the kernel from the CM11 M10 build. (made a backup of /system from PA and restored it over the CM11 install) Radio works, but rotation is still borked though. :(
