Fear the Walking Dead discussion

But I still want to know where all the bloods Crips Aryan Brotherhood Mexican Mafia are? There are the types of people that thrive in anarchy

Probably killed each other off...they would have been in the heavily rioting areas. Lots of violence and death.

I hope we see the mother turn into a total badass zombie-slayer. The way she handled Principal Obama was pretty good for her first kill.

Yeah they would be in heavy violence areas but I've lived in close proximity to those people for extended periods and I've learned that they adapt quickly to physical threat.

they also turn on each other.. for things they want/need.
making it hard for many to survive the long haul.

small groups will survive.. then go bully others.
which would tend to reduce their numbers..

While I'm a big fan of the Walking Dead, I only watched 2 episodes of fear the walking dead. I thought they were very boring and don't watch it anymore.

I'm waiting for it to get good (hopefully it will). It's interesting to see how in this universe, nobody has ever heard of a zombie, so nobody has any idea or understanding that that's what's happening. Right now everyone seems to think it's just some weird sickness.

I read somewhere that there are initially only 6 episodes? If that's true, it should start getting more interesting soon, or they won't grab enough viewer attention to come back next season.

Well, it does add to what they can do in drawing things out, at the beginning, or even later on in the story. Remember in TWD when... wasn't it Herschel who had people locked in his barn because he thought they could be cured? If everyone just knew "oh yeah, these people are zombies, you have to shoot them in the head", that would change the show a bit. It's just hard for us as viewers, because we've seen so many zombie movies/tv shows/etc. that it's old news to us.
"*yawn* another zombie, big whoop"

Just look at what we've seen so far in FTWD: Blonde mom may not fully understand what's going on, but based on what she was going to do to her neighbor Susan, she seems to get that these people are dead even though they're walking around. But she had to deal with the zombie-fied school principal, & then that neighbor guy eating people/the dog, so she knows the principal wasn't an isolated case & that something really bad is happening. Her husband saw some bad stuff too, but didn't have to deal with it directly yet, so he still doesn't get it. I think it's only been what? Maybe 2 days since it started, so it'll take some people a little more time to really get it, or else they'll get killed off.

Robert Kirkman confirmed that zombies are completely absent from pop culture in TWD universe.

AMC almost always starts their shows with a short first season

I'm holding on to hope but the more I ponder the show, the more I realize that it just plain sucks. They replaced gore with bore. Who the hell approved such a dry script.
Kind of like putting your money in the machine only to find out that they are out of your favorite soda and you have to settle for a diet. The carbonation gets you through but the taste just isn't there

I do agree.. it needs to get more (something.. anything).. soon!!!!
or people are going to forget.. and move on!!!!

I just watched the most recent episode. I didn't find it boring, I think there has to be a lot of background happening before we get into full-blown zombie mode, otherwise it'll be just the same as TWD.

Why are the soldiers taking people away? Why are they shooting people who aren't even infected? Will we ever see the people again who were taken away?

Because
The military likely knows already that people who die turn. People they are taking away are at risk of dying. The old mexican lady with the infected foot, the suicidal neighbor guy, Nick(with his drug addiction), etc

yes.. it should not be hard for anyone looking.. to figure out. Dead = Zombie
so they are taking all risks out of the safe zone.
those that have extremely low chance to survive .. they execute = head shot. I can understand that.

but this show is ... loosing my interest.
slow action.. slow building up.. stupid actions of people.

father in denial....

letting a drug addict roam...
and him doing things to get in the way of survival.

show started out OK... had potential.
each episode.. the potential is getting lower.
i give it 1 more episode. if it don't start headed up.. i will put it in my.. maybe visit again next year... if i am bored.

Well, there's only two episodes left, so if you're going to watch one more, you might as well watch two.

I don't have a problem with a slow burn, but the problem is pacing. If you only have six episodes, you can't spend 4+ of them on world building. Plus, the characters suck. The dad is an idiot, the junkie son I just want to get eaten, the mom was a ball buster in real life, but that will help her survive in the zombie world, so she's ok. I could see her as a Carol type. The barber prob has survival skills, but he's a kind of an ass. I really don't care if any of them die.

I think it would be better if instead of continuing with this story, they could show a different glimpse of the world each season. Kind of like World War Z (the book, not the movie).

Also, they should show this earlier in the summer, to spread the shows out, instead of having this run right up to TWD.

i will admit.. the 5th episode.. it is getting interesting.
things are finally starting to happen. i want to see when the shiiit hits the fan.

if the writers.. keep them in this camp.. and drag the big evac till the 2nd part of the season..
that will end my need to keep up with the show

The new black / sellsman-type dude....
at first I did not like him.. he was too in your face.. rude... calculating.
then he helped the addict.. he seems interesting now.

but.. he is black... so when will he go zombie?
next? sometime in the 6th episode???
if so.. then the show really has some kind of bias.
I would bet the writers have some brains.. and will keep this one alive till at least end of the next half-season.

where are the yellows/Asians????? I want representation!
