Laugh at iPhone x thread

If it wasn't for the first iPhone, Android wouldn't be where it is either.

*sigh*

To be fair, the *is* an Android support forum and we're just having a bit of fun at the expense of some of the silliness spouted officially from the Apple marketing orchestra. Of course iPhones are good phones, and you'll see that in many of the posts here.

I think if you look closely you will find missing many of the derogatory terms used about iPhone owners. That's deliberate.

I'm seriously considering a V30 because I'm getting so incredibly sick of the changes in iOS10 and 11, but this snarky, condescending nature of so many Android users puts me off a bit. :(

Both OSs have their strengths, and people buy what they want with their own money. It's not funny, it doesn't mean they're stupid, it just means they have the freedom to choose. If it wasn't for the first iPhone, Android wouldn't be where it is either. Goes both ways guys.

:)

This forum is for Android and Linux Master Race. If they aren't throwing jabs at other OS I'll seriously be creep out. Lol. But hey, I lurk on Apple forums too and people there make fun of Android and Android users too.

Heck, I swore to Android but even I have used an Iphone and can attest that its a good phone and OS and what they have going there works for their taget audience but its not for me and the only reason I even used one is for helping my friends and family on fixing their iphones.

:D Android and Linux master race. Nice. But at least Android and Apple users alike are united in their view of looking down on the unwashed masses of Windows users.
Dammit, I will soon be joining that underclass once again. Farewell Ubuntu. o_O

I love listening to the excuses Apple Sheep make, even down to professional sales team teams, one of which had a pop at me about exploding Samsung phones a whole year after the recall. I told him to make sure to tell his customers to hold their iPhone correctly, just in case there's another antenna gate fiasco. It's all good fun as far as I'm concerned, he however sneered at me.

I think Apple Sheep are in denial myself, Apple used to be the innovators, market leaders, the best, that crown has long slipped away the the sheep are lost, rudderless in shock even, The Apple is rotting and I think there's a certain amount of cognitive dissonance going on, deep down a lot of Apple sheep know that it's over.

It's a sociological issue, not a hardware or software superiority. Personally, I think either way you go, you've got a great (and expensive) piece of tech in your pocket or purse that is the way we communicate. They both get the job done.

As a long standing Android user, I can understand the condescension from the iCamp as with every phone improvement and OS update, things move and change and get all mixed around so you almost have to learn it all over again. I like that. It's evolution. You know, keep the good, throw out the bad and try something new. With Apple, they are playing it relatively safe by keeping things in the background for most users. Honestly, other than performance, if you pick up the original iPhone and use it along side of an iPhone 8, you won't see much difference in the way it works. Sure, new features have been added and others improved, but it's according the the Apple way.

Which is better? Before we can answer that we must first answer which is better ... burger or steaks? Pilsner or Bock? Chips or Fries? Led Zepplin or Zydeco? Blonde, brunette or redhead? Eagles or Cowboys?

Disagree: For me, my disdain with iPhones starts before you even switch it on, once you do, you have a boatload of immovable icons in your face, I could go on ad nauseam.....

That's the 'notch' everyone is raving about.

Before we laugh too loud though, here's a report that Samsung have a patent for a phone with the notch at the bottom. Not only is that not top-notch innovation (because it's bottom-notch...) but if you hold it upside down people might mistake it for an iPhone X.

Funnily enough, although I do see more Apple Watches than other smart watches I have seem Motorola, LG and Huawei watches, as well as Pebbles, in the wild. Of course Fitbits and similar vastly outnumber them (claims by "analysts" and the blogs that smartwatches would kill them seem premature so far).

They also patented an underscreen pressure sensitive fingerprint sensor.

https://www.androidheadlines.com/20...ails-a-new-on-screen-fingerprint-scanner.html

I think they just latched on to bringing the fingerprint sensor back to the front and is getting patents for all their ideas before Apple does. I mean Apple did get rid of the fingerprint sensor and they're racing each other to get a screen embedded one. Getting these patents would give Samsung leverage financially over Apple for these designs, or force Apple to use a different design approach.

It's funny now that Samsung is making Apple devices more expensive. they sold each OLED panel to them for like $150 each. Nearly a third of the iPhone X production cost, and from the looks of it, it's like S5 era OLED panel tech. If they get Apple to pay them rights for under screen pressure sensitive fingerprint scanners, iPhones will get even more expensive, maybe even prohibitively, and to what company would the iSheep turn to? Samsung is the next most well known brand. Non-sheeple iPhone users may look to Pixels or LG or Huawei or something, but the less tech savvy would gravitate to Samsung. LOL. If it is their strategy, nice one.

Most iPhone users today don't need a phone capable of what even what an iPhone 5 is capable of. A low end Android is all you need for text and Facebook. Without the Apple hype that's where they'll be.

I love to hate on Apple and it's becoming increasingly easier with all the crap they produce. Do I want to see Apple die? Not really, who else is going to push Samsung forward, no one else is even close.

Iphones have no water resistance either. Samsung phones have fatter membranes for ip68 rating.
Actually the iPhone 7 and 8 are both IP67.

The difference between 67 and 68 doesn't bother me much. Both are rated to survive immersion, neither really means "designed for use underwater", and an extra 50cm depth isn't a deal maker or breaker for me (clearly, since my phone is also IP67).
