Hi, I'm new to rooting. I have read the 'All Things Root Guide' and the Guide for Root For Gingerbread 2.3.3 My purpose for rooting is so that I can use emulators on my phone. I had a friend root my old Galaxy ace, but I can't use him any more, so hopefully you guys can help me do it by myself...

The phone functions fine, but the power button stopped working a couple of days ago. It didn't return me home or turn off the phone. I took my battery out of the phone today, forgetting that the button no longer functions and the phone obviously turned off. Now I can't turn the phone back on...
