If you want to format all those partitions, do not use ROM manager to install the .zip. Use ROM manager to boot into recovery, go to the 'partitions' menu, format boot, cache, data, and system. Then back out, select install .zip, choose the one you want to install, and install it.

It takes a little more work to do it manually, but you ensure a clean install.

You can still format all those partitions using SPR, if you now how to use adb.

Otherwise, flash Clockwork, format the partitions, install the new ROM, then you can download ROM manager again, go to the bottom, flash 'alternate recovery' and get SPR back again.
