Hi. I also didn't like how you have to scroll back. I downloaded Handcent and it works great. You don't have to scroll to add to the message and I have a different notification tone set so if I am watching a ball game and I hear a tone for an email( which I have set differently] I don't pay attention. When I hear the tone for a text I pick it up and read it. Good luck. Great phone.
