What custom recovery should I be running and what are a fee good daily driver ROMs?

Long story short my rooted dinc 2 is headed back to big red due to the camera dieing. I am not sure when or if I will root its replacement. So is the a way to back up my apps to load on to the replacement?

Running codename andriod mod 1.6.0 Inc2 Andriod Version 4.0.3 the camera wont load at all. It was working fine two days ago. Tried a fullwipe and reinstall and had no luck. looking for ideas?

ok, so I am lost here. I flashed a recovery last night (from aug, mainly stock). Installed the QTA's now my phone says it is rooted but, su is not any granting permissions. Any ideas what I messed up? I can't even boot into recovery at the momdent. Any help and you will become a droid god...

I need a list of the basic things that must be on my sd card, I want to flash to V.04 and my 4 gig card is pretty much full. Any tips on what to remove would be killer.
